Dear SIG members,

This is a call for SIG posters, student poster award, and the Deborah L. Rhatigan Early Career Award for Excellence in Violence Research (deadline August 15, 2018). See details below:

Poster Submission and Student Poster Award:

The Child Maltreatment and Interpersonal Violence (CMIV) SIG is now accepting submissions for our Poster Expo at this year’s ABCT convention at Washington D.C. (November 15-18, 2018). Submissions are open to all members of the CMIV SIG. The deadline for submissions is August 15, 2018.

1) Title of the presentation
2) Authors
3) Affiliation(s)
4) Contact information for the first author
5) Student status of the first author (if not a student say N/A)
6) An abstract describing the background, methods, results, and conclusions of the study presented. The abstract length should not exceed 2800 characters (with spaces).

For students (not yet having completed your doctoral training) who are first authors, please also indicate if you would like to be considered for the student award that are determined at the abstract exposition.

Deborah L. Rhatigan Early Career Award for Excellence in Violence Research:

Eligibility criteria: To be considered for the Deborah L. Rhatigan Early career award you must be (i) first-author of the submitted publication; (ii) must be a current SIG member who received their Ph.D. within the last 5 years; (iii) the submitted paper must have been accepted for publication or published in a peer-reviewed journal (in press, published online, or published in print) within the last year (since July, 2017).

Submission: (a) Please provide a copy of the published article. If you only have your version of the manuscript because it is too early to access from journal, (b) also provide the acceptance e-mail from journal. All material should be provided in a single PDF document. Due date for the competition is AUGUST 15, 2018.

Once we receive your submission for the early career award an e-mail will be sent out within 24 hours acknowledging the receipt of the submission. If you do not hear from us, please check back with us.

Also, if you have not already, remember to pay your SIG dues for the year. Dues are $10 for professionals and $5 for students. You can pay dues through PayPal:

July 1st Deadline

July 1, 2018 is the tenative deadline to submit SIG poster abstracts.

As well, July 1, 2018 is the tentative deadline to submit nominations for the Deborah L. Rhatigan Early Career Award for Excellence in Violence Research.

ABCT 2018 Abstract Submission Deadline

ABCT 2018's abstract submission deadline is March 15, 2018 (11:59pm ET).

The 52nd Annual Convention of ABCT will be held at Washington D.C. from November 15-18, 2018.
